It will be time to return by the river of the ramparts, the wild south, the beach of Grand Anse (classified among the 10 most beautiful beaches of France), the lagoon of St Pierre and its coral barrier so transparent by helicopter.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best season for a sightseeing flight?

It is true that Reunion Island has a rainy season from December to March, so there is not really a “best” season to plan a sightseeing helicopter flight. The southern summer with its showers prevents us from taking off on certain days, but these tropical rains feed the waterfalls all over Reunion Island, and offer you a dazzling spectacle. In winter, the weather is drier, and the light is exceptional, so in short, you’ll be amazed all year round!

What happens in case of bad weather?

Reunion’s skies are quite unpredictable, only a check every morning just before the flight can confirm the take-off of your tourist flight. In case of bad weather, we will propose a postponement of your flight. We prefer to postpone the flight rather than offer you a distorted flight that will not meet your expectations.

Which tour allows you to see "everything"?

“Le Grandiose” and “Le complet” are the two helicopter flights that will allow you to discover all the landscapes of Reunion Island. These two tours bring together the essential sites: Cilaos, the Piton des Neiges, Mafate, Salazie and its waterfalls, the Trou de Fer, the Piton de la Fournaise and a return trip to the wild south and the lagoon of St Pierre.

What is the difference between «LE GRANDIOSE» and «LE COMPLET»?

The two tourist flights cover most of the beauty of Reunion Island. The flight “Le Grandiose” lasts 10 minutes longer than the flight “Le Complet”. These extra minutes allow us to show you the TAKAMAKA gorges and Le Grand Étang. These two sites are really spectacular but located far enough in the East of Reunion Island, they are worth the detour and fully justify the price difference.

If I don't have a seat in front I won't see anything !

Our fleet of AIRBUS H125 helicopters is configured as 6 passengers + 1 pilot. The passengers are divided according to their weight. The lightest passengers will be seated in the 2 front seats, the other 4 will be seated in the 4 back seats. On our aircraft, the back seats are about 25 cm higher than the front seats, insuring a panoramic view of the Reunion Island’s landscapes. The experience of our pilots and their perfect knowledge of Reunion Island will allow you to enjoy the show from any seat.

Why can't we fly in the afternoon on Reunion Island?

The weather on Reunion Island does not allow us to schedule afternoon flights. Practically every day, clouds settle in the highlands of the island at the end of the morning. These cloud formations prevent the helicopter from flying over the main passes of the natural park (Col du Taïbit, Col des boeufs…). Sightseeing flights are therefore always scheduled in the early morning.

Can I fly in a helicopter with my children?

RUN HELICO is a fully-fledged airline and as such complies with international regulations (ICAO and EASA):

– From 0 to 2 years old, children travel on their parents’ lap and are secured with a “baby” belt.
– From 2 years old to 11 years old, they occupy a seat, and we provide a booster seat, which will allow your child to enjoy the scenery of Reunion Island.

However, our helicopter company does not recomment children under 3 to 4 years old, to fly as they do not really enjoy the “helicopter ride” and can sometimes suffer from earaches due to the variations’ altitude of the flights.
